Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

We are dedicated to cultivating an environment where diversity is honoured, and fairness is upheld.
Regardless of gender, age, race, disability, ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation, civil or family status, or membership of the traveling community, all members of our Co-Centre community will be treated with respect and dignity. We will ensure equality of opportunity for staff and students alike, promoting a workplace and learning environment grounded in inclusivity and mutual respect.
The Co-Centre’s Strategy and Commitment to Excellence
The Co-Centre’s strategy focuses on fostering a dynamic community of interdisciplinary leaders in food systems research. These leaders are highly productive, well-connected, and entrepreneurial, generating transformative knowledge and cutting-edge research to drive meaningful change in global food systems. This vision will be realised within an inclusive environment where diverse backgrounds, experiences, and career levels are not only welcomed but celebrated, ensuring every member feels valued and integrated. This empowered culture will nurture creativity, innovation, and collaboration.
Training and Mentorship
To cultivate global leaders in food systems, the Co-Centre will deliver a comprehensive suite of leadership, management, and entrepreneurial training programs tailored to different staff and student categories. Examples include:
- The Aurora Leadership Development Programme for women.
- The European Nutrition Leadership Programme at both early and advanced career stages.
Additionally, we will mentor researchers applying for fellowship schemes or grant-supported postdoctoral positions, providing tailored guidance and support to advance their careers.
Embedding EDI in Research
Our commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion extends to the research process itself. By fostering systems thinkers who integrate EDI principles into the design and execution of their research, we aim to drive meaningful societal impact while preparing our researchers to address the complex challenges of food systems transformation.
