ADPI’s Global Ingredients Summit 2026

Prof. Seamus O’Mahony had the honour of being invited to present research from his Food Ingredients Research Group at two conferences in the United States.

At the American Dairy Products Institute 2026 Global Ingredients Summit in Reno, Nevada, he presented on Thermo-reversible Milk Protein Gels for Clinical Nutrition Applications. A few days later, he delivered a second presentation at the 2026 Dairy Products, Process & Packaging Innovation Conference in Shell Beach, California, sponsored by the California Dairy Research Foundation and Dairy Management Inc.

During the visit, he also managed to include an excellent technical visit to Hilmar and attended the 40th Anniversary Dinner of the Dairy Products Technology Centre at California Polytechnic State University–San Luis Obispo—an excellent event celebrating the impact of 40 years of research, along with ambitious plans for the future.

Prof. O’Mahony extends his thanks to the organisers at the American Dairy Products Institute, Dairy Management Inc., and California Polytechnic State University–San Luis Obispo, as well as to the research funders at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Enterprise Ireland, and Research Ireland for making the visits possible.

It was also a great opportunity to reconnect with University College Cork alumni, former PhD students from his lab group, friends, colleagues, collaborators, funders, and industry partners.
