Engage

Our vision is to create authentic opportunities for researchers and citizens to interact and collaborate in ways that enhance our research and empower those who engage to make a positive contribution to the future of food systems transformation.

Our Education and Public Engagement programme has 4 key objectives:

Building our capacity

  • To build the capacity of our researchers to develop mutually beneficial collaborations with citizens, communities and stakeholders at all stages of the research.

Inspiring future food citizens

  • To work with young people and educators in developing accessible resources and creative learning experiences that inspire active engagement in our research.

Involving our communities

  • To co-create participation opportunities for stakeholders and underserved communities in our research and offer skills development programmes linked to key research themes.

Informing societal change

  • To raise public awareness and interest in our research and create opportunities to inform the development of public policy on food systems transformation.

Our approach will be informed by the needs and interests of our audiences and shaped by the development of our research. We aim to offer a range of levels of engagement for schools, communities and stakeholders, facilitated by our researchers and education partners.

If you are a primary or secondary teacher who would be interested in working with us and others in the education sector to help develop projects and learning resources for schools around sustainable food systems, get in touch via this online form to join our Education Advisory Panel:
