ESB Science Blast

nce Blast 2026 at the RDS, one of the largest science education programmes for primary schools within Ireland. With students from hundreds of schools across Ireland presenting their projects, the event is a celebration of curiosity, creativity, and scientific thinking.

Dr Bera was assigned two fascinating projects: “Which type of shoe is best for sprinting?” and “Why do we have different eye colours?” The students approached their questions with impressive enthusiasm and scientific method. They began by forming clear hypotheses, explained their methods, carefully explored their ideas through observation and investigation, and presented their results confidently.

Dr Bera commented, “It was inspiring to see such thoughtful inquiry and excitement for science at such a young age. The students demonstrated not only creativity but also a strong understanding of the scientific process. It was truly a privilege to witness their curiosity in action and to be part of such a rewarding and inspiring event.”

Well done to all the schools and students who took part. It’s exciting to see what the future may hold for these potential scientists.
