Communications Manager
Daniel leads the design and coordination of bespoke communications campaigns, ensuring the Centre’s research and impact goals are translated into clear, accessible narratives for policymakers, industry and the general public.
He is responsible for implementing the Co-Centre’s integrated communications strategy, focusing on enhancing its reputation and visibility across Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Great Britain. His role involves a high level of collaboration, working alongside colleagues at UCD, Queen’s University Belfast and University of Sheffield to manage internal communications, brand development, and stakeholder engagement. A specialist in research impact, he leads on the creation of impact case studies and the development of measurement frameworks that capture the Centre’s influence on sustainable food systems.
Daniel has over 15 years’ experience as a senior communications professional across higher education, the public service, and the not-for-profit sector. Prior to joining the Co-Centre, Daniel held senior roles including Communications Manager at UCD and the Irish Pharmacy Union and Special Adviser to the Minister for Rural and Community Development. He is a multiple PRII Award winner, notably for his work on the launch of Ireland’s first satellite, EIRSAT-1, and for national public health advocacy. He holds a BA (Hons) in History and Politics from University College Dublin.
