Name

David Meredith

Role

Funded Investigator

David Meredith’s research focuses on understanding the interconnected social and economic processes at local, regional, national, and international levels that drive contemporary rural development. His work explores rural change and its implications for the future development of rural communities, examining how rural areas and communities evolve in response to national, EU, and global social and economic changes.

A key aspect of his research involves assessing the restructuring of rural economies and investigating how local resource endowments, including the capacity of individuals and communities to act, influence the impacts and outcomes of external change drivers at the community level. His work highlights the resulting diversity and differentiation among rural areas.
