Dr Elissa Price is a Research Fellow at the Co-Centre for Sustainable Food Systems within the Institute for Global Food Security at Queen’s University Belfast. She holds a Bsc (Hons)(DeansSchol) in Nutrition and Dietetics and has over three years’ experience as an Accredited Practising Dietitian in Australia counselling individuals living with cardiometabolic diseases. Elissa recently completed her PhD in Health Sciences, where her research focused on the categorisation of whole-grain foods in dietary recommendation models, with a particular focus on food processing and cardiometabolic risk associations. Her research interests focus on dietary components and overall diet quality to support reduced diet-related disease risk across vulnerable populations. Her current work explores associations between the consumption of polyphenols and cardiovascular disease risk in cancer survivors using large epidemiological datasets.
