Martin Danaher’s research focuses on analytical chemistry, with expertise in chromatographic separations, sample purification, mass spectrometry, biosensors, and immunoassays. His work encompasses residue analysis, including the detection of agrochemicals, environmental contaminants, natural toxins, and medicinal adulterants in food and feed. Martin plays a key role as the coordinator of Ireland’s “National Food Residue” and “Veterinary Drug and Feed Additive” databases, which support national efforts in food safety and regulatory compliance. His expertise extends to exposure and risk assessment, analysing contaminants in food to assess their potential impact on human health.

Through his research, Martin Danaher contributes to advancing methodologies for detecting and quantifying residues and contaminants, ensuring the safety and quality of food products. His work underpins efforts to protect public health and supports the development of innovative analytical techniques for food safety monitoring and risk assessment.
